Oh, and- My garlic cloves in your pickles turned blue. I suspect it's the color from the now-yellow cucmbers, but I was wondering if it always happens.
Keshi - Once when I ran away from home (13 yrs old) my friend and I walked through that tunnel - it was so scary and loud. Not much of a sidewalk, and the cars honked at us. It was also cold, drippy and wet from the seepage in the hillside.
Mo'a - it still boggles my mind as to how she hoisted herself and all her painting materials up on the rock face to paint her work of art... that lady had ovaries!
Jeanne - now there's a good word of the day... LOL Indeed the brush has grown thick around the tunnel.
The garlic does sometimes take on a bluish/green hue - not sure why but I know they taste wonderful and if left long enough, will turn back to their usual dark ivory. The pickles will darken in about 3 months (gotta wait to eat them...)
3 months!!!??! Christmas pickles. You don't happen to have a recipe for tomato-onion salsa (canned), do you? Red. Just to complete the holiday color scheme.
Sorry Jeanne - no tomato onion salsa. I was planning to do up a batch of tomatillo salsa with mango... but those hungry deer ate them all in the garden. How are those pumpkins of yours?
Not scared was she, climbing up there by moonlight to create that and at that size too! Couple of years ago, they projected a photo of a nude model onto the houses of Parliament here in London, not as creative by far but the closest thing I can think of in terms of newpaper headlines and the like and this was not that long ago - can imagine the traffic problems it must of caused :-D Real shame though that she was taken off, quite lovely she is even on a photo, must have been quite a spectacular sight viewed in person (did you take that picture?). Interesting story, not least for all the stuff the artist went through afterwards!
Terry, they came yesterday evening, just beautiful, we felt that hug from across the ocean! Thank you both so much!! Have taken pictures, which may just have to be shared when I get home ;-) Lots of love, xoxoxo
RT, it is a shame - and I sometimes feel like my Grandma when she used to tell me how much everything has changed since when she was young.
Autumn, that is a funny thought (a nude on Parliament... stuffy Englishmen must have had a hoot). I did not take that particular photo - that one was from a reproduction on a greeting card. My own snapshot (taken with my trusty Kodak Instamatic) is well worn and too tattered to see as clearly after all these years.
G and I are so happy you finally all got your hugs :-D
Jeanne - we are having to pick our pumpkins as they seem to be lanquishing (and rotting) if left on the vine. They are bright orange. I'm not sure they will last until Halloween (October 31st).

The Tunnel's looking goooooood! :)
Keshi.
What an amazing story....and a sad one also...now I must google her name to see her other work.
A natural women. She would need to depiliate to wear today's fashions. Which I suspect many do.

Very cool story! Thanks for sharing it.
The area where I grew up is totally changed now and I could probably write volumes on whats different now.
It's a shame.

Those pumpkins are a-growin', but they WON'T TURN ORANGE! I've got another plant with many small pumps that are orange as can be. Hurumph.

I love the fog at the coast along CA.
SFchick - I love the coastal fog too. Guess you don't see a whole lot of it anymore along the coast - only tule fog. Don't you miss it?
