I love oyster shooters. Although I've never had one with alcohol in it before, this looked like what I'd like for lunch right this very minute!! In fact, make that 10 of them - to help me get over the hump. It is Wednesday isn't it?
INGREDIENTS:
1 chilled shot glass
A splash of V-8 or tomato juice
Several drops of fresh squeezed lemon juice
A pinch of sea salt and a dash of tabasco
1 freshly shucked oyster
Top up with ice cold vodka and a grind of the pepper mill
METHOD:
Toss the shot back and simultaneously chew the oyster as you swallow and enjoy the layers of tomato, lemon, vodka, and the sea tang of the oyster as they flow over your palate.
TOOLS:
A napkin to wipe up the drizzle dripping down your cheek.
