I've actually done #9 before! Italian roast in a french press, 4 minutes, black served in a off-white cup with a slight lip. Do you think I drink just a little too much coffee. lol Gives me an excuse to blame for all my typos and misspellings in the comments I make. lmao

Tree - Ummm, that coffee sounds better than what I had this morning (Starbucks french roast beans) at 4:30am as I hurridly drove a friend to the airport... I need to get a french press.

Terry, I have coffee that taste like manna from heaven when made with a French Press, but that same coffee tastes like horsecrap when made with my normal drip. Blows me away that the same exact fresh ground beans can taste so vastly different with just a simple change in method. Go buy you a FP today. Promise you will not regret it. Just don't grind your beans too fine or you'll have problems pushing the plunger down. Brew for about 4 minutes, no more no less. Don't bring your water to a full boil, but just before the boil pour it in and then stir with a spoon, put top on and let sit for 4 minutes. And then BAM! You've got one great tasting, albeit, very strong cup of coffee. Peace.

Is it bad that I really do love my coffee so much that I go to sleep being excited that in the morning I will be able to drink more coffee?

Tree - oooooooohh, now I can't wait. Thank you for the instructions - you would think that someone who has been into coffee as long as I have would have already personally experienced the FP. But no, I'm a FP virgin. I have had it made for me before, but never done it myself. Time for a change.

Have you ever had Albanian coffee? When I was over there several years ago, I became obsessed with it - it is basically Turkish coffee. You measure heaping teaspoons of the very finely ground coffee into a small tall pot along with water (per demitasse cups). The preference in the household I was in was to add equal amounts of coffee and sugar but you can leave the sugar out if you want). Then bring to an almost boil. Just as it begins to thicken and move around, you pour it into each cup. If done properly, it will maintain the thick almost cream-like swirl on the top. Beware the "mud" at the bottom of the cup. Best afternoon pick-me-up ever.

Holly - Coffee is something to get excited about anytime! Umm, the smell is the best. The anticipation is part of the allure. It is what gets us out of bed in the morning.

Terry, I've never tried Albanian coffee. I need to check that out. Thanks for the heads up. :-)
