THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER

I've always loved Picasso's "Women on the Beach". Years ago I had a lovely print of it put up on my refrigerator. At that time, I believe I was still in college, and I envisioned this picture being of me and my younger sister Kelly, who sported a younger, more svelte figure than I. In fact, I can remember unhappily referring to myself as Thunder Thighs more than once. That old print was destroyed in 1998 when my house caught on fire. I have tried to find this print in art stores, galleries etc., without success (of course I'm looking for an inexpensive version... affordable... you know, CHEAP!). So now all can come up with is this grubby unfocused tiny rendition, in a foreign language no less. It just looks like those women are having so much fun (I'm not sure which beach they are running on, but in reality I think they would not be so carefree on the crowded, policed beaches of these modern times with their attire so disheveled) . Their joy is uplifting.
