Gullfoss

I know you are all quite sick of my photos of Iceland by now, but please humor me as I re-live the trip, piece by piece. This picture was taken of Gullfoss - an enormous waterfall which generates a lovely spray of mist akin to rain which wets the coats of siteseers. Many bids have been made by greedy developers in hopes of lassoing the power which is created by such a great volume of water, but they have all failed, foiled by Icelanders wanting to keep the falls pristine.

A fellow blogger who reads my blog lives in Ireland, it sounds like an absolutely fascinating place. I would love to some day visit there.

Humour you?! :-) I told you before you even left, how I have always dreamed of going to Iceland (along with about 3000 other places lol), so I'm thoroughly enjoying this 'slideshow' :-)

Sherri - Been to Ireland too, but unfortunately didn't take many pictures way back when. It is a lovely green country with extremely friendly folks.

Autumn - not to worry then, pull up a chair and I'll keep you entertained for months as I piece-meal through my wonderful trip there. I can scarcely believe such beauty is there for the taking (photos that is...). I revel in the stark, unspoiled, dramatic landscape of which the entire country boasts. Miles upon miles of lava flows, desolate cinder mountains crowned with living glaciers, pure crystal clear waters and steaming hot sulfur pools, wild wind-whipped waves crashing on black basalt cliffs, pastures of long grass dotted with wooley Icelandic sheep.. help, stop me I'm gone again.

Go on, go on :-)
All these reasons are why I have always wanted to go.
