Okay, it wasn't THIS cold at the cabin, but it did get down into the mid 20's. Guess what? My Beloved showed up, after making the longest Thanksgiving trip ever from Orlando to San Francisco, and then driving for 5 hours up into the mountains! My Thanksgiving was complete in every way :-) The cabin was so crowded (20 bodies) that we opted to sleep out in the tent. It rained the first night when I pitched my tent, and then when my Boy got there the next night (Friday) we slept in the frost. I found out my 29 year old sleeping bag was still worth its salt, as it kept me warm. It snowed as well, but none stuck to the ground. Lovely, wonderful holiday. The turkey was cooked to perfection, the ham was yummy, we somehow found room for all the other dishes (-squash casserole, eggplant parmesan, vegan stuffing, regular stuffing, baked yams, candied yams, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, rolls, and the crowning glory, Icelandic butter ordered on line.) wine, sparkling cider... 9 pies... it was a food orgy. Babies were everywhere, children laughing, Cousins chatting, catching up with my Brother, my Dad, marathon computer games going, fireplace blazing, card games, scrabble, pie eating, walks in the woods, and of course snuggling. Best time of the year for everyone there. It was a great time all the way around. My only regret is that the wonderful time was so short. My Love is only here for a short week, and then back to that other state on the other side of the continent. I suppose that makes the time spent with him all the more sweet.
I hope everybody had a great Thanksgiving as well. The rest of the year is coming, rushing up with its load of hectic frenzied holiday hysteria. I plan to avoid all of that and get of of Dodge.

Terry, welcome back. You've selected another wonderful pic and I'm so glad your beloved was able to join you. As I was reading your post the word orgy caught my eye. Imagine my disappointment when I discovered you were talking about food. :-)
Thanks Trée :-) Do you know I actually hesitated before writing that word because I had a feeling it might be provacative to a CERTAIN audience... LOL
