SNAEFELLSJOKULL

Here is a postcard of the glacier Snaefellsjokull which we drove up to see. I just can't wait to go back in June -

I think I must have some part of ancient ancestry or heritage from Iceland - otherwise why am I so enamored of it?

Is there room for one more? Such a beautiful place. You make me want to go and see it myself.

Convinced we have an affinity with different places for no particular reason before ever visiting.

Besides which, Iceland (from your photos and from anything else I have seen) is awesomely beautiful.

Hope you've been enjoying this last day of November ;-)!

Trée, sure there's room - throw in a tent & a bedroll and off we go!

Tracey, Ha ha - I'll go with all of the above (enchanting, ties to my Love, gypsies... tee hee)

Only 6 months until I'll be there again. Ya hoo!

Autumn, loved your comment. I've never felt so drawn to a single spot, other than where I grew up in Malibu Canyon near the ocean. I wonder if I will ever get enough of Iceland - or if the longing to be there will just continue to grow. It is just so beautiful a place.

Impossible to tire of that kind of natural beauty :-)

Were you lucky enough to be here on a day when it was clear enough to see Snæfellsjökull from Reykjavík? It is so incredibly huge, even from that distance, that it gives me the shivers every time I see it.

Yes, as a matter of fact, we were treated to fabulous clear weather part of the time while we were there. We saw all the way across the water to Snæfellsjökull from Reykjavík. It was stunning. LOL, of course, what, if anything in Iceland ISN'T? Have you managed to see it yet close up? Now THAT experience gave me shivers!

I've been enjoying living vicariously reading your blog - thank you so much for all your fabulous postings. I especially liked your food post. Makes me hungry... (grins)
