Maybe this will be my scene this Christmas.

mergrl said...

wouldn't that just take your breath away.

Christmas does take my breath away, when it finally gets here, the people are all asleep, and I'm alone with the meaning of it all.

and I'm alone with the meaning of it all

that is where it all comes together isn't it, getting past all the commercial stuff, and remembering what we are really celebrating.

I'll be going with my daughter Hannah and my grandson Hunter to chop down a tree tonight. My daughter has this idea that it will be a bonding experience for the two of them - and that Hunter will always remember it. Well, I'm not much for dead trees - hate having to fool around with all the sap, needles, dirt, water, etc. - but her heart is dead set on it. Another excuse not to wrap. :-D

she needs my truck.

you will just find any excuse not to wrap LOL actually that sounds like a lot of fun (though I have visions of Christmas Vacation in my head LOL)

I'm just sitting here, daydreaming of last year when I was off for Christmas. Oh, how slowly the times goes by when one waits for something...LOL.

I know what you mean about "is it too early to pack yet"... I've been deciding what suitcase to even take - carry-on or bigger. I will have a unwrapped Christmas presents to bring along so I probably need the space. Ugh - I hate checking luggage.

mergrl said...

well at least you only have 2 days, you should be thinking about packing, I still 5 days (though looking at the pile of laundry in my bathroom it will take me that long to do it all LOL)

if I am going anywhere for longer than 3 days I pretty much check luggage if for no other reason than I take the laptop with me so that kills my carry on :0)

I don't own a laptop. I like the clunky old desktop models. (Makes traveling difficult though LOL) G and I bought his Mom a computer for her birthday so there will be one to play with while I'm there :-)

mergrl said...

I bought the laptop as a birthday present to myself last year, I love the thing, I will still use my desktop in my office for most things, but like now, its great, when I want to be comfortable and still play with you guys LOL

I like to take it with me when I travel to find stuff to do and get local information, mom and I found the best tour in San Fran when we were there on the internet, plus any pics I take I can just upload and free up the space on my camera.

I suppose I would use one if I had it, but since we travel light (or try to Ha Ha) we wouldn't really drag it along on most trips. Besides, if we are sleeping in the tent, where would we plug it in? LOL

mergrl said...

I love that whole outdoors thing,I will hike and traverse and climb and frolic, I love campfires and the whole nine yards but I do not like sleeping outside, I will do just about everything else outside :0) but when it is time to actually do sleeping...its just one of those things :0) LOL

tsduff said...

Tee hee - you make me laugh. Its okay - you aren't alone. I guess I just did it so much as a kid on camping trips that it was perfectly normal. I had a mama bear and her scrawny teenage bear walk right through our campsite once, and we were sleeping on a tarp, no tent. It was wild.

mergrl said...

now see I think that is cool, but they are going to have to do it during the time I am not sleeping and actually communing with nature LOL

see and I think thats part of it, my mom is not a good camper, so we never did that kind of stuff as a kid, we had all sorts of adventures but none of them required sleeping outside LOL

For a woman of leisure, you sure are up early... Good morning Tracey :-) Yes, tomorrow will bring - more anticipation!! And butterflies... and fear of my review at work... and indecision on what to pack... and anxiety about catching the right train to the airport... and - JOY!

Well, it is the very first one I've had since being with this company. The president himself gives me the review because I report to him. Your confidence is touching :-D
