To Dream, the Impossible Dream...

Planning a huge belated Christmas Dinner for 12 guests the day after coming home from out of town, AND having to work all of that day is definitely not something I'll do again. This is a sample of what I'd LIKE the table to look like... Hmmm - do you think I'll be able to wiggle my nose and magically have it all appear? My Sweetie is home cooking his brains out to prepare the meal. I will actually be a guest at my own Christmas Dinner, not having lifted a finger to help cook, arrange, and organize it. It is difficult to swallow (no pun intended)! I love to cook, plan and create a big dinner. This one isn't one I can claim. In fact I'm actually frantic because there is no way in the world all these people (original number of guests was 7 but things got sort of out of control) will fit around my cramped dining room table or even into my house! I hope I don't have a nuclear reaction and entertain everybody with my meltdown... however I think this may be the predictable ending.

Room for one more? Looks fantastic Terry. A few glasses of wine and all your troubles will simply disappear. No worries. They'll be back. :-)

Have a great time!

:-) 12 in a space for 7 just means you will have less work to do to obtain a cosy atmosphere.
Have fun! - tell us all about it :)

Awe, Trée there was plenty of room, in spite of the crowd! I dreamed the impossible dream and my Christmas dinner was picture perfect. We even invited our neighbor, who recently lost his father, to join us. You know, having a partner to fill in the blanks (as in cook the entire dinner with the exception of the prime rib)is quite a new experience. I like it :-)

Greetings Tracey! Got that sultry tan going yet? Got those toes curled in the white sand, with tropical breezes gently wisping your hair around your face? I'm back to being jealous because it is storming here with lots of wind and driving rain. Hope you are having a great time. Voice come back yet?

Good evening Autumn! You were right - putting 12 in the space for 7 was a cozy experience :-D It was chummy, fun, and a good time all around was had by everyone. G put on the apron, and I was so completely amazed at his finesse in the kitchen! The entire meal was planned out and executed from the ors de oeuvres all the way to the pies and brandied eggnog for dessert! Wow! I think I'll keep him around for a while.
