I can see myself living in a place like this... in Iceland. My house would be simple - perhaps made of sod or old weathered wood, with a stark yard, no surrounding trees to speak of. Art would spring up around the dwelling, expressions of the man and I who live there. I'm fond of stone, so since there is an abundance of lava and rock to be inexpensively had, most likely statues and other figures would adorn the homestead. There are very few trees on the Rock - but there are, in many areas, new forests being planted by conservation groups around the island. We would plant trees of course, because we love them. It is fun to dream.

Wow, I've never seen anything like that before!
Sounds like a little slice of heaven. Dreaming is fun plus you never know which dreams may eventually come true, that's the beauty of it.
Hope you are having a wonderful day, Ms T, x
Sounds good to me! And think of the lovely little garden you could plant around some of those beautiful stones and statues. :)
seems very remote and peaceful...beautiful place.
but I really dunno if I can live in a place like that, cos Im too much of a city-girl :)
Keshi.
whoa terry i love it.. your awesome!
Terry, it sounds wonderful. I'd like all that also, as long as I could see a train from my place...
But me being the warped person I am I just can't resist. Just WHAT is that statue of the seal (I guess) DOING to the one of the guy?????
Morning, Terry - hope you have a happy Tuesday!
rofl, just realized from visiting Agnes, that it's Wednesday today - happy Wednesday :-D
I am so happy that I found your blog.....anyone that loves Iceland is perfect in my book. I am Icelandic:) living in the States. Where is this beautiful place? I love the mountains in the background.
I love lava and hide a pice in my suitcase every time I visit Iceland.
Hi Tai - I loved finding this picture - it is inspiring to me. Perhaps my own yard will look similar one day.
Autumn, it does look like a slice of heaven, doesn't it! I think anywhere in that beautiful country would be. And I continue to dream about it, all the time :-D
OG - the garden would be great - with lots of lava everywhere :-) Last time we were there we took home in our suitcase a boatload of lava rocks complete with moss... they are growing now in beautiful Walnut Creek, CA. (Broke our backs it did....)
You are not alone ;-D See my dream place in my mind's eye in perfect detail, it looks out across the ocean, there isn't another house for miles and is in serious need of a coat of paint :-D.
Have a wonderful evening, x
Hey Keshi, I am such a country girl that I find it interesting that you are a city gal. Too much time spent in the concrete jungle and I'm climbing the walls, looking for a breath of fresh quiet air. Got to have the trees, rocks and hills... and of course the ocean! City is okay and fun for a little bit, but I wouldn't want to live there.
Hey ANNE!!! Get any $$ for those great pictures in the Lopez Newspaper yet? You and George really ought to be paid for those lovely shots.
Tom, HA HA HA thanks for the laughs! I had to go back and look at the pics to "catch your drift" so to speak. Let's just assume that the seal is taking a fishy handout from the man... :-D Speaking of strange statues, when we were there last (Iceland)we got a picture of a stone fisherman actually slashing the throat of a seal in front of his young son. Seemed barbaric, but since it was an ancient fishing village, it was quite natural. BTW, I don't believe Iceland has a train system of any kind. Only buses and ships. :-( That lava is hell to dig through to lay tracks...
Autumn, tee hee, I know we are behind on the time zone after you, but not THAT far :-) Happy Wednesday to you too!
Hallo Mo'a ! What a great time I've had on your blog! Love it, and thank you so much for stopping by! I don't know where this picture was taken, as it was unmarked on the internet, but it was so beautiful that I just wanted to be transported there. Looking forward to visiting your site often, to see your beautiful art creations. And, I know you'll be dancing before July at your son's wedding :-D
Autumn! Your dream house sounds lovely. I can picture you all curled up under your woolen blanket, on the wooden deck overlooking the ocean in the dawn's glow with your snizzle.... :-D
Thank you for visiting my blog. I have been rather lazy for the last 10 days and not posted anything. You have inspired me to remedy that....I will write something and post it tomorrow.
I have also been reading a lot on your site.....wonderful :)
I am so excited, I will be going to Iceland in August after dancing at the wedding in Denmark :)
I so agree with u...we need the trees, rocks, lakes, animals etc...I only can dream of such places...ur lucky Terry :)
Keshi.
:-D I see that too and this will make you smile, I just see me and my dog Sam (have no dog). M's grown up and living abroad, but I don't look a day older than I do now. I know what I am wearing, I know what the decor inside looks like, I know how the so-called garden looks (it's a mess) and so on...:-D You'll have to come visit when I get there, not sure where it is, but I've certainly never been before and it's a stunning view lol, that way courtesy (sp.chk?) demands you invite me to visit yours too :-)
Good evening/night, x
