Wishing You All a Happy St. Patrick's Day
My grandma always made me wear orange on St. Patricks Day, "because", she explained, "you are not Catholic but Protestant." I didn't care about any of that...didn't understand a lick of it. I just wanted to wear green so I wouldn't be pinched at school. Heck, I am part Scotch Irish, doesn't that count for anything? Everyone knows you should wear green on March 17th. I still wear green - just because I can.

Happy St. Paddy's! :-)
Again, I am missing out - you guys have so much fun!
ditto sister.. you crack me up.. your the one that should write a book babe.. i too am irish scot and english...that is too funny about your grandma...
I told one of my Icelandic co-workers about the green-pinching thing, and he looked it up on the internet. Turns out it's as Irish as Irish Spring soap (as in, totally American). I'm still wearing green and pinching people if they're not!
Hi Autumn,
Wishing you Happy St. Patrick's Day too, even away over there in Denmark! Get some green on! Lift a pint and have some corned beef cabbage and potatoes! Join the party :-)
Howdy Anne!
Got my Irish Harley shirt on today, the one I traipsed all over Ireland to find... (there is only one Harley shop in the whole of Ireland - in Dublin) complete with the Irish guy riding his scooter with pint in hand... there is a piece of orange on the shirt.. it is the HD logo :-)
Ms Elisa,
So great to hear from you. Ha ha, Irish Spring! My brother used to swear by that stuff... wow is it strong!
Woo hoo - glad you got your green on too. Happy SPD to you!
Have a great weekend!
And Happy St. P's day!
Silante'!
Happy St. Pat's!
And a happy day to you too!
Orange?? You must have stood out like a carrot in the cabbage patch.
I haven't paid a lick of attention to this day in 13 years.....but today I wore green like a badge! THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF SPRING! EVERYTHING TURN GREEN RIGHT NOW!
Yes. I know.
I'm just a little insane. :D~
Happy St. Pat's Day!

TERRY WHAT AN INCREDIABLE STORY AND THE ORANGE SYMBOLIZES OL GRANDMA THAT MADE YA WEAR IT..LOVE ME
MY BLOG HAS BEEN UNDER MAINTAINECE FOR HOURS GADS.. IT JUST COMES UP BLANK ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS HAPPENING?
Sister Celtic - it happens on occasion and different blogs will be grouped, two of my links are under maintainance, the rest are working as per usual.
"Manly, yes- but I like it too!"
Terry...I thought about you while I was reading through my newest edition of Backpacker Magazine. There was a section on Iceland and it was so beautiful! There were pictures of colorful lava fields and a 300 ft. waterfall called Seljalandsfoss. Don't know how to say it, but I know I want to photograph it! :)
that waterfall is awesome- you can walk behind it and the rocks back there are all mossy and green in the summer, and best of all, only like an hour and a half from Reykjavik. Then, a half hour further along is Skógarfoss, another incredible waterfall.
It's pronounced SELL-ya-landsfoss (the "land" part is pronounced more like the vowel sound in "mom" than the American a in "land" usually sounds). Emphasis in Icelandic words is always on the first syllable, so it's at least easy to remember that!
Wow, OG and E - You guys are getting me all ready for my next trip to Iceland! OG, we didn't see Seljalandsfoss last time we were there, but hope to this next visit. It sounds beautiful. Of course, there isn't anywhere I've seen thus far in Iceland that isn't beautiful. And Elisa, the Icelandic pronounciation is very important to me because when we get around Bjarni's family, (my beau's name is George Bjarni but in Island they only call him Bjarni) they always take note of my grasp of the language. Funny, because I know next to nothing, and have NO idea of the extra 6 characters in their alphabet or how they sound. I really want to learn, but the programs online are difficult, and the video that I have has the people speaking so fast that I can't even figure out what sounds they are making!
We plan to visit as many new places as possible, camping out around the rock as we go. Last visit we carried WAY too much stuff - even though we were trying desperately to pack light. You would think, as a biker (I ride a Harley) that I would continue to pack light - I'm used to carrying only what I can pack on the bike to camp... but when I went to a new country, I felt like the complete tourist and still do. I'm learning though - LOL. Only 3 months and 1 week until we go :-D
Green it is :) Good on ya sweety!
Keshi.
