Wow, check out this amazing Icewool artwork (go down a few posts) created by Mo'a Romig-Boyles, an Icelander living in New Jersey who creates the mischievious Jolasveinar, otherwise known as Yule Goblins, Christmas Men or Christmas Lads, as they "arrive down from the mountains." I posted info about these Icelandic folk back in December, with my limited new-found knowledge of Icelandic customs, but I'm stunned and amazed at the craftmanship and art of Mo'a with her wool creations. I want them!

:-), so nice, with a traditional feel to them and each with a different personality (facial expressions) - remind me of my mother's 'kravlenisser' which are little cardboard cutouts that we stick on picture frames and such like as part of the Christmas decor (mine were bought in the last decade and so more modern versions - nowhere near as nice).
They were nice. Wonderful faces. I could kick myself sometimes for doing so little. Time is funny, and runs through my fingers when it could be helping them instead to sculpt or sew or draw or bead. I USED to do more. Oh well. For everything, turn turn, turn...
just love it terry wow.. are they expensive? does she sell them? let me know! thanks
Wow! Terry what a wonderful surprise :) Thank you, thank you.
Autumn Storm: thank you, I also have little nisser made from cardboard they are holding hands...did you notice my Danish Christmas tree?
Jeanne: I have dry spells also, sometimes they last for months :)
Sister Celtic: Yes I do sell them as for how expensive they are, that is ofcourse subjective. Contact me by email and we can talk.
Terry: Thank you again and I hope you don't mind me answering your readers here. I will be posting today, come by to see me. I am one happy person today :)
I did, looks very much like mine :-)
Morning Autumn - or again, I should say good evening. So strange, this real-time difference.
My Icelandic "mom" also has cardboard cutouts of the little men - also at Christmas they send each other cards which are handmade and each one is unique.
Hey Jeanne - don't worry about the time thing. When the bug hits you, you will create. I've been laying around unproductively for quite some time now, and I'm beginning to feel the creative urge coming on (I hope)!
Anne - I will be talking to Mo'a also about buying some of these guys... I love them.
Mo'a - I'll be by to see you today :-)
