One of the things I love about Iceland is the tendencies of the people toward art and color. This is especially evident in their choices of house color. Many of the houses in Reykjavik stand out gaily in an unsorted hodgepodge with hues of blue, green, red and yes, even this gem of purple. Honey, when do we move in?

For some reason, I never imagined the homes in Iceland to be so cheerfully vibrant in color!

There's a small town in New Jersey I'd drive through all the time when going surf fishing along the shore. Every house in it was painted either this hot pink or purple...

Odd really.

Autumn, I love this color - although there was a time I wouldn't be caught dead living in a house of that color. I've changed... I love this house!

Happy Wednesday!

ODG - The houses over there are fun, great shapes and lots of different colors. Icelanders usually don't "conform" at all :-)

Tom, interesting about the color of those houses in New Jersey. When I was there, we drove through a horrible industrial area near the river on the way to the tunnel to NYC, and the only colors I saw were brown, gray, black and white. It was so UGLY!
