This was yesterday in downtown Walnut Creek, CA where I live. Too hot for everyone - people and animals alike. I don't have air conditioning, and for some reason this heat is kicking my butt. (okay, no age wisecracks now)...

Oh, bring me back to Iceland...

Okay, 110 degrees is just too hot. Wow. I don't know how you are coping without airconditioning Terry.

bleah, I hate the heat. Ours finally broke but not without some wicked storms that left us without power for 3 days, ackkkkk that stunk!

wow... I forgot what that feels like. I'm sitting here next to the partially opened kitchen window, thinking about how I really ought to close it, since the fleece and wool socks just aren't quite warm enough. Do you REALLY want to come back to always-bring-a-jacket land?

Hey, I want a Segue!

(I don't really, I just like saying it. Wonder if I spelt it right!)

Wow...that's HOT!

...how much is that in Celcius?...

Trée - Yes - much too hot, and really, I'm not coping at all :-D Today I'm going shopping after work for a small window AC unit. I went yesterday but the "House of Target" was sold out... I do like it hot, but this is overkill...

TRACE! I read about your storms - guess you AND Lisa had to break out the candles? Camping out is fun, but not during such sweltering heat...

Elisa - I love reading your Icelandic interludes... and it is extra cool because I have now seen a few of the places you describe myself :-) Your writing makes them come alive. Yes, to answer your question, I WOULD like to return to the land of always-put-your-sweater-on... in a heartbeat :-)

Greetings Tai - I forget what it is called, but it sure beats walking in this brutal heat! Is it cool up there in your neck of the woods? :-)

Autumn, 110 degrees Fahrenheit = 43.3333333 degrees Celsius. It was 113 F (113 degrees Fahrenheit = 45 degrees Celsius) yesterday... this is just too hot for people and critters alike.

California has been all over the news here for the past two days. Hope things cool off and the power grid holds up for you guys!

No airconditioning??!! I would have to spend the entire day submurged in cold water. It's hot here but 113??? That's insane heat!
Please stay as cool as possible. We do not like you broiled. (Although Tree is partial to over-easy.)

This heat is kicking everyone's tail all over the country! It was hot, hot, hot in northern Montana and Alberta, Canada last week and my mom reports pure misery at home in Georgia!

So sorry to hear about the loss of your family member. :( Losing the furry family members can hurt as much as the fleshy ones!

I'm catching up on your Iceland trip and can't wait to read it all!

Terry from one virtual travelling fan to another, I hear you! It's actually been too hot to go swimming here, as odd as that sounds.

I hope you'll stop by and play in the caption contest this week, and vote for lil ole me in the BoS contest too! :)

Sherri - Now I know what Big Kitty felt like - just shoot me and get it over with. The heat is horrendous and makes Bears and other living creatures grumpy :-)

Agnes, I have called everyone and his brother in hopes of buying an air conditioning window unit; SOLD OUT is all I hear. Well, I think the heat wave is almost over, so who needs it anyway! I am already broiled... no over easy. It is called hard cooked, all the way through - bleah.

Julie, I can't wait to read about your latest travels... sounds fab as always. You do what I always admire... go out and just do it. Your tales of domestic and Canadian travel, hiking and camping through beautiful places just whets my own appetite! Oh, and thanks for the kind words about Big Kitty.

Trée - you rascal

Grins... Sar, already been there, done that! You are winning by a dozen lengths!! And, I love the caption contest - makes me rack my brain though... LOL!
