Happy MONDAY (is there such a thing)?

Sorry I've been off the blog for a bit - it was extreme discipline which kept me away ;-) because I've been cleaning, cleaning, and cleaning ALL weekend! I am proud of my accomplishment - house hasn't looked this good in quite a while~ but my back is aching. My Bear's Mama is coming to stay with us for a few weeks all the way from Florida. There you have it :-)

Good job now do you want to come over and clean my bathrooms? I have 3 for you if you get bored. Cute bathroom!!!!!

OMG!!! dont tell me thats your bathroom!
oh, please,
can i come live there?
(in your bathroom?)
oh its beautiful!

i know what you mean about
cleaning for the parentals...
man, i used to burn myself out
when chris' folks would come to stay.
i darn near killed myself
cleaning.
ya, the bathtub is an issue
specially for short people.
i have to really like my visitors
to clean the tub for them.
otherwise its too damn hard to scrub!
you're the best...!
and what did you say on A's blog
32 or 33 for Thanksgiving??
yikes!
whens that?
my son doesnt talk to me much
these days so i dont know
where hes going for thanksgiving.
they get a serious 5 or 6 days off
from skool.
well, maybe i'll send him to your place!!
if youre having 33, would you notice
one more?
you guys could play a steel drum/ trumpet duo.
he'd dig it! he plays anything with anyone,
very flexible...
he might even help with the dishes!
actually, probably not.
but he'd charm you to pieces
while you did them...

hope all goes well with Mama Bear...!!
you're the best Terry!

Thank goodness for visiting relatives. Where would our house be without them?

Good thing you did......if she is anything like all the Icelandic Mammas I know....this was a good move on your part :)

I have that same bathtub. I soak in it every single night .... ahhhhhhhhhhhh

I want to live in your bathroom too! I don't think any room in my house has *ever* been that clean :p

Nah, not a valid excuse. I had to get out of my sick bed on Monday and get the shole shack spotless in an hour because the real estate agents were coming to take photos of it. Plus I shouldn't have neglected my work to do it.
So I don't accept; you owe us 15 posts to make it up!!
What I WILL accept however, is your bathroom, Terry! Where I am living, thank heavens I'm alone. It's the smallest I've ever had and is almost useless. But it's damn quick to clean well! Kisses

PS- Oooops..a shole shack? Looks like I've been drinking too much of the enamel-cleaning fluid. Eyes are so bleary I hit the 'W' one line too low:-)

Hope the bear offered you a massage after all that scrubbing. :-) Such a pretty bathroom, it is too, think everyone agrees on that fact (yep, me want to come stay too:), it's practically sparkling!

LOL at Jeanne. :-)

Missing you a whole big bunch, Terry, you've picked the best time to be so busy - much easier to do the full rounds often, when you guys don't post as much. Once I have access though, I'm expecting more. ;-)
Have an absolutely fantastic visit with Mama bear, sure you will, xoxo

Okay the jigs up with my bathroom - the one in the picture is not my bathroom. Mine is similar - but no beautiful tub.
:-( But it's clean!

Jillie - you are so lucky to have 3 bathrooms! I have only two.
:-) And, I'm done super-cleaning for at least 2 weeks :-D

Meg - the day after my marathon cleaning was finished, my daughter came along with her boyfriend, and cooked fried chicken all over my kitchen!! Grease everywhere - junk on the floors... auuuugghhhH!!!!!! Impossible!

Jeanne - you are absolutely right on. Ha ha - visiting relatives are the grand motivators, which keep our lives from crumbling into the ghetto of dust. That's usually what it takes to get me amped up into cleaning mode.

Hi Sally!! You know that isn't my bathroom - but I would love it if you all came to visit :-) That's what families are for. ALL of you!

Lisa - it is my heartbreak that I don't have my tub anymore. When my house burned down in 1998, they threw my tub outside, breaking it in the process. Grrrr!!! They replaced it with a lame, built-in, rinky-dink tub and I never cease bemoaning my loss.
By all means, send over the boy! One more would be welcomed, and we would jam the roof off with tunes :-) Jump into his suitcase and come along! Bring that jazzy flute of yours :-D

Mo'a - :-D Mama Bear is the most awesome Icelandic Mama ever. I showed her your site yesterday, with pictures of you and your Mom with the new coats... she loved it. Loved the art as well. She brought a ton of knitting with her, as well as lots of gifts of lovely soft wool she had made such as foot warmers, hats and socks. She is amazing with her skills.

Crazy Me - Angela!! So great to hear from you! And man alive, I'm SO jealous that you have my tub!! I miss it so.

Bean - as stated - my bathroom is beautiful and tiled, but minus it's crowning glory of the rolled edged, claw-foot tub. ~sigh~ :-( My pedestal sink is fun though :-) I was looking for a picture to post how clean my house was, and that picture was close to how it is :-)

MizB... Happy...uh.. I lost a day somewhere :-) happy Wednesday! Glad your Monday was great. I miss the days of my little ones, but now I have a little one Grandson about to be 5. He was born on my birthday!

Mile Stones... 15 POSTS? Are you nuts? No way Jose :-D I'd never be able to make it anyway. But it's nice to be wanted :-) Sorry to hear you were sick Monday - nothing like one more thing to add to the normal Monday madness. Are you selling your place? Moving away from Lisbon?

tsduff said...

Mile Stones - drinking enamel cleaning fluid? Try tequila - it works better ;-)

Autumn - *smiles*
So great to hear from you. I MISS YOU! Wondering how goes the battle(s) over there with you. Can't picture it, but trying. Can't wait til you are up and online again.
Baby Bear is working at a pub in King's Cross somewhere - she has room and board included... such a deal. Papa Bear is a bit anxious about this new turn of events - Baby Bear says she may live in London for a year or so. She is just a chip off the old block - a travelin bear for sure.
I can't believe I got the Mama Bear all the way out here - it is fabulous. I'm so honored to have her in my home. We stayed up waaaay to late last night just visiting.

dang, i cant believe they threw out your tub!
so awful about the fire and all too, sheesh!
i love that that wasnt your bathroom
after all!
what a hoot!
if i posted a photo of my bathroom
i'd have even less friends
than i already dont have!
hey, maybe we should all have a
benefit concert,
just some wild multimedia thang,
painting, crafts, steel drums, jazz,
cooking, the works,
and raise money for
a brand new claw tub thing
for Terry!!
lets do it!
Mama Bear can help too!
hee hee!

ps i knew you'd be so warm
and welcome brian for thanksgiving,
but he would never impose.
funny he finally called last night
and i told him i joked about
my begging for an invite
to your famous and fabulous
thanksgiving dinner.
he wouldnt have the nerve to do it!
funny shy guy.
but then he said he wasnt doing anything
or going anywhere this year
and that everyone else in the school
was going home, but he's just gonna
hang around all by his lonesome.
thats too sad!
he's got a car now,
but i cant believe the entire school
is gone! seems everyone goes
somewhere for thanksgiving.
its bigger than christmas there,
isnt it!

well you and i have similar tastes in bathrooms! if yours is anywhere near that cute, i'm both jealous AND impressed!

lovelovelove the pictures on that post you linked to (in your last comment on Waking Ambrose) of the White Mountains! i grew up in Central California, just outside the entrance to the Sequoia National Park & Mineral King -- all part of the Sierra Nevadas. and all beautiful. but i had no idea how truly lovely the White Mountains are. thank you for sharing! xox

I just texted baby last night, have been meaning to call her one evening (assumed she'd be working during the day, but now thinking, she's likely working in the eves mostly instead) and it kept slipping my mind, so yesterday I thought, no more, must make contact even if it is just a text firstly. Will call, spoke to her in the summer, so she'll hopefully remember who I am. :-D

I think, you are just pretending that is not your bathroom so that half a dozen bloggers don't show up (myself included) to squat in there. ;-D

Soo good to hear you all are having such a nice visit - I've forgotten all the dates that you mentioned, and when you will actually be leaving for the cabins. I'm going to try and make it back in tomorrow, but in case you have left by then, have an absolutely perfect time (am sure you will!!).
Love and hugs, xoxo
