Close your eyes, and imagine this: walking the trail, smelling the breeze scented with sage and cactus flowers, gazing down from high above on steep sun-drenched hillsides to the quaint hamlets below - nestled in among the rocky coves... not the usual first impression which comes to mind of Italy - at least my mind. I was thinking pizza, statues, enormous basilicas and fountains... galleries and gardens, and mopeds.

We shall dip our toes in yet another sea,
behold the culture and beauty of another country.

After a day of meandering along the coast of Cinque Terre on the upper west coast of Italy, you will find us relaxing near the sea,

chilled glass of sciacchetra and frutti de mare on the table, watching the sunset over the azure waters of the Ligurian Sea.

Autumn - wow, and so it is! Only 2 months before we shall leap across the ocean again to visit another country. The time is going too fast - we aren't ready yet!!

Lisa - doesn't it sound great - warm, sunny - and BEACH too? Can't beat that. I can't wait to see the bird life there. Makes note to self: must buy an Italian bird book.

Annonymous - my Monday just improved a thousand percent with that smile from you xoxo

Actonbell - ever been there? I bet the double wow is thoroughly applicable!

Autumn - Thanks hon! And I hope yours was happy too. xo

Darlin - we are going to walk all over that place - together. Nobody does it better.

Bonjourno! (Is that how you spell it? It looks funny) I better bone up on my Italian muy pronto - oops - I think that was Spanish...
Scotty wants your blog addy :-D

Yes Terry! We are trying to plan a trip in May to Ireland, England and try for a day in Belgium or France. I told Autumn and if all goes well, we'll be able to hook up with her and share a pint or two!!!

I am so excited!!! I have never been to Europe before and it's been a long time since we have been on vacation together that it is long over due!

That looks scary. I'd step out in the yard and fall in the water!

Jillie - you will adore Autumn - she is the world's most fantastic hostess :-D You MUST hook up in London :-D How exciting to go on this trip! Where abouts will you go in Ireland? I've only been on the east side - Port Marnock, Dublin, Wexford, Waterford (glass factory is a must to visit) and a few castles... beautiful country. Good luck with planning your itinerary. We are having loads of trouble trying to narrow down our choice of places to visit because we want to see them all!

Icy - HA HA HA HA!!! You are so funny. Heck, you and Dusty would do just fine (I've seen you flying in space!) - but you'd have to change your can diet to one of fish :-D

G - sure did enjoy your recount of the grand gathering... yes, planning a trip (HA, trying to) in May/June) - have a countdown above my moon calendar in my sidebar.

Jillie - sorry to hear about your winds down there... it is breezy up here but no Santa Anas - or even wind per say. Battan down the hatches!

Jodes - guess you'll have to settle for American travels for now - (think Atlanta - LOL)

OLIVIAH! Love to say hi! You look like you would fit right inside of one of these little Italian seaside towns - it's your dark eyes :-D

JJ - I sent him your blog addy - but not your e. Patience my dear - he is not the worlds fastest responder :-D Piqued his interest you did though...

What are the dates you will be in Europe? Our dates so far are May 17 - 28. Robert has been there loads of times and I am making it a PRIORITY to meet Autumn. Hey...wouldn't it be great if we all could meet together???

My luck...something will come up with Robert and his shitty ass work and we won't be able to go. This is one reason why I don't want to get myself TOO excited!

We are gone from May 25 to June 11th. Will be in Iceland (airport only boo hoooooooo) Italy, and Amsterdam - with Florence being somewhere around early June. We may not get to see Autumn because we really have to give her a solid date to work with HA HA wish we could!! We are trying though :-D

You will go - don't let a little piddling thing like "work" get in the way! And too late - sounds like the excitement bug already bit you.

I guessed it was Liguria on the first pic, but Italy is so rich in beauty of every kind. I'm really envious, 'cos a couple of weeks ago, I started getting such an urge to do a grand tour from Venice to Rome, via Lombardia, Liguria & Tuscany. And somehow throwing Paris in too. It has been so long. It would need 3 or 4 weeks. I'd love to look more carefully, to compare Italy with Portugal. Many similarities, but huge historical and physical differences too. On the whole, no people in Europe know how to enjoy life and show it like the Italians. Buon viaggio!

Hope you're doing well.
