David Ridgway

Off to put the dory in the waters of the delta at Brannan Island. Taking the dog - he can't stay by himself - not even overnight as he is getting too old and senile. We may even drag him out with us into the sloughs - tire him out so we can all sleep well tonight. Packing some steak and potato chips... yes, diet is out of the question tonight. Firewood, sleeping bags, and a jacket, as the weather has become blissfully cooled off.

Recreation time taken doesn't feel as good - or deserved since I have joined the ranks of the unemployed. I've been hunched over my laptop at home for the past week, submitting my resume, filling out endless job applications and gaining nothing for my efforts other than one massive pain in my neck and shoulders. No responses to my emails... and I've almost decided to throw in the towel and become a bum. At least until I run out of coffee...

Makes me think of pitching a tent out in the backyard, but it's getting cold out there of a night.

Terry, I'm so sorry to hear about the job situation. Not blogging much, I miss some important info. I hope that something fantastic opens up for you. In the meantime, enjoy your steak and fresh air! xox

Such a beautiful painting...why not write a book on your experiences with the birds while you are job seeking?

I know this job hunting just so well. I feeling with you. After nearly half a year without success in Germany, I didn´t throw the towel - I bought a ticket to Iceland (okay, I had a job offer from IS but I had no idea about this country and my English was terrible - not to speak of my Icelandic). I wish you good hunting-luck for this week!

Enjoy the Steak and the fire, absorb the blissfullness of the woods and put the business world out of your mind. Stay up late and look at the majesty of the stars. It reminds us how small our woes are, and how infinite our happiness can be. :-)

The first paragraph sounded very good, and the second not so much. No worry, you'll never run out of coffee until you have friends over here!

Hang in there. I have been unemployed for over a year. I was suppose to me married by now but things are still in the works. As I am staying home with my boys it occurred to me what my passions are. I have stopped to smell the flowers and take the time to enjoy the little things.

It might get stressful but I promise you you will get calls or perhaps start living your passion.

Take care I will be thinking of you.
