Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there;
I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on... snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there;
I did not die.

Well now, there's a piece of good news!
A nice poem. I Like Doug's response.
Did you write this? It has a familiar ring to it.
I also like Doug's response.
Doug - yes, these thoughts soften the harsh blow dealt by death.
LGSquirrel - Doug usually always has a worthy offering.
Mo'a - Best evidence shows it was written by Mary Elizabeth Frye, a Baltimore housewife (1905-2004) & first published in 1968 - it is not conclusive but no evidence to the contrary has been discovered. It is a fitting poem for me to ponder right now.
This is sad stuff. I keep going over and checking to see if my wife is still breathing. It is tense. It is scary. Not wanting to happen what we know will happen.
what a beautiful picture to go with soothing words. may you find the peace and comfort you need.
That poem can be scary, actually. Terry, sweet crow... *hugs*
It is a beautiful photograph
With soothing words

Just so.
Love the photo. Clouds are the only reason why I like flying. Great poem! It still made me a bit sad.
Tom, you are beloved to many though you don't know it.
Thanks Michelle - grief knows no limits but we do try to limit her.
