Well, I had to take a break from the paint scraping marathon. I was way off when I thought I'd get any actual painting done... there is SO MUCH PAINT TO PEEL/SCRAPE/SAND OFF FIRST! Grr -
So in taking a break, I decided to revisit my recent trip to Iceland. One of the places we saw was Pingvellir. At this place, the European and North American tectonic plates grind and scrape against each other, causing deep cracks filled with clear blue water and walls of lava. It is facinating and beautiful as well. This was one of highlights of the trip for me.

Terry, that first picture is amazing. Would like to have been there to see that in person.
Tree - there are very few places that I have seen which are as stunning as Pingvellir. I took this picture standing on a rock cliff next to a sheer drop. The water was so clear, and deep, that it mesmerized me. Everything is so clean and pure in Iceland... I could live there. I might just do that.
Terry, as soon as I saw this photo I knew two things: (1) that was an incredible view; (2) there was no way any picture could really do it justice. I've never had Iceland on my list of destinations, but you might be changing that. :-)

Holly, I agree - so fortunate to finally be able to travel- something I've always longed to do. I have an awful time getting enough time off from work to go anywhere, but even short trips are better than none. Iceland was the most wondrous place I've seen yet.
