We are still painting.

Painting this old house.

Scraping and painting.

Chipping and sanding...

My Bear has been doing the lion's share (a Bear doing Lion's work?) of the entire production...

He got on the extendo ladder and its rope snapped.

His nose is covered with light blue freckles.

His hands are coated in baby blue primer.

I do have hope that we will beat the rain.

You've got me humming Skakin' Stevens' This ole house. Hadn't thought of that song in years, brings back memories of jumping around the living room, and goodnight kisses. He was my first love, you know, unrequited though it was. :-)

Looks like a fair bit of work ahead. The 'after' photos will make it all worth while. Fingers crossed the rain will hold off and that you manage to get lots done. And remember Mary Poppins, in every job there is an element of fun. Of course, trust her, she never mentioned, that element sometimes has a tendency to be rather elusive. Hope you found it already. :-)

I'd have just hired a contractor...

LOL

Good luck with it! I love your photos BTW!

There's so much satisfaction and pride in doing it yourself, if you survive.

Autumn - When do you sleep? Or are you like a cat that just snatches a few minutes here or there :-D How was yor weekend? Mine was nice - played hooky from painting and had a dinner party Saturday eve with old friends. It was nice, and my boneless stuffed chicken was delunchie. Happy Monday to you!

Autumn - I don't know Skakin' Stevens - I tried to find a sound clip but was unsuccessful. Hmm - How could I be so ignorant? (I thought George was your first love, LOL)
Oh, btw, I love Mary Poppins. :-D Thanks for the encouragement.

Actonbell - Oh, I'd love to take credit for those pictures - but alas I only borrowed them. My Bear looks good in blue :-D

RT - Although the paint does look like this on my house (unbelievably peeling) these pics are not mine. And, alas, I wish I would have hired a contractor, but it is too late now. It looked so easy when we started... LOL

Tom and Icy - thanks. LOL - if I survive... ha ha. That ladder is the devils work, let me tell you!

Autumn - Monday again already? Sheesh - where does the weekend go?

I had a great weekend, thank you. :-) Spent most of Saturday out, doing various things, seeing people, was lovely. Sunday was more of a lazy day, and just as nice.
Glad to hear you had such a good weekend too, a successful dinner party with old friends, few things more perfect than that. :-)

Shaky, as we liked to call him for short, was a national superstar for a couple of years back in the 80's (think he owns a fish and chip shop these days somewhere up north) and I just adored him. Rock 'n' roll type music :-) I'll have a look-see too, see if I can find anything for you to listen to.
Shaky was puppy love, George was - well, I don't know what George was :-D

Hope you're having a great Monday. Are you still taking the pottery classes? Or has the steel drums replaced them, seem to recall the pottery was also Wednesday nights.

Spoke to Mum this evening and today was the day that the flowers had lasted until :-) She spoke of the two of you also, you made quite the impression, but how could you fail to.

Love to G, lion's share to you ;-D
Have a good rest of your day, xoxo

That looks like fun. And I can say that because I don't live close by.

This one was my second favourite. Found three for you to look at, but alas, none could be found for This Ole House.
I did read his bio though, and I was wrong, he was known outside of the UK also.

I don't know why I couldn't find these, and, I really don't know why I didn't know his music. He sounds great - love the clips! You are up and busy late as usual :-) I thank you for your email - will get one back ASAP.

Have put the clay on hold whilst I dabble in the pan... can't wait to learn how! My instructor won't be there this week so I have to go a whole week with just notes playing in my head. :-(

Loved hearing about your Mum - give her our love and blow a kiss to your Dad.

It's crazy how beautiful pictures of peeling paint are. I enjoyed looking at them. :)

Good luck with it all.
I painted a horse training ring on Sunday...all day long. The Varnish was horrifc. My hair still stinks, i had to cut my fingernails and a blister has formed between the middle finger and the index finger...
have fun :)

It's surprising how pictures of things like peeling paint, which is generally an annoyance, can show a beauty that we don't recognize when thinking "aw hell, I've got to do something about prettying this up!"

Morning, Terry, and happy Tuesday.
Hope you're having a good day thus far. I imagine you are beginning to get very excited about the mini-reunion. :-)

Ooooh the joys of painting! :)

Doug - it does look rather fun, doesn't it? As long as you are the one perusing :-), not brrrrushing....

Oliviah - welcome! Everything has a beauty to it, if you just look for it. Thanks for the nice comment :-)

Wow, Monika - painting a horse corral is a pain and a half! Easier to paint the side of a house than a pole or fence board... and aren't you proud of your battle scars? Must be difficult for a sweet penguin to hold a paintbrush :-D

Hi Keshi - hope all is well with you in winterland. :-)

Autumn - :-)

Cheesemeister - I'm honored that you came by. I love your rather different perspectives on things. I do lurk occasionally at the full moon rising...I do like the look and beauty of peeling paint.

Hey Autumn - happy Hump day. Started out a bit rough this a.m. - the corporate nature of my daily world chapped my hide a tad, but I'm trying to make a comeback to the good natured side. I am getting excited about next weekend (the one after this upcoming one) when I fly to Casper,WY... I need to bring a good book for the 4 hour layover in Denver :-)

ODG - what joys? Tee hee - oh, you mean the joy of seeing the finished beauty of a coated house, protected against the rain :-) Beauty indeed.
