My Bear's asleep
He's all tucked in
A blankie pulled
Under his chin

The miles between
His bed and mine
Two thousand plus
A giant line

I miss his warm breath
Sweetly scented,
Fine long hair
With softness hinted

Bear and Raven
Intertwined
Hurry home
I miss you, mine

The miles between his bed and mine, you are the most poetic Raven I have ever met, your singing is sweet.

And it's so sad.

The saddest sound is no sound at all from the one you love.

True Ariel, she IS the sweetest Raven I know too,No fear Tom & Icy-am sure she can hear my rant and raves over the miles--Morning Sweetie, beautiful rainy day in flor-i-DA--Your tender words have me grinning from ear to ear--may your day start as wonderful as mine--Peace Always Bear

Very nice indeed. And thanks for visiting my blog. My obsession with Iceland is a niche topic but I knew I'd bump into other folks that understand my dreams. Takk fyrir!

Ariel - Thank you - and pray tell how many have you met? :) All ravens are poetic - it is their nature although this is not widely known.

Tom and Icy - Sad but yet not sad as I look forward to his homecoming.

Yes, that must be the saddest sound of all... silence from your loved one. You are wise.

Not-so-Annonymous: Such the early riser. Your grin is contagious.

*see the Raven grin* xo

EBEZP: = love is beautiful, isn't it :)

Miz Nix: Hello and welcome from across that big ole pond. You have a nice "family".

Vikingsson: Obsession understood! there is no help for it... it just keeps getting bigger. I'm afraid for you... once you actually set foot on the Land - you might not return. It surpasses anything and everything you've ever heard or seen in pictures. You have a great website by the way. Yes indeed - on with the butter!

Awwwww, would it help thinking about how Bear's snore? Heehee.

Nothing lonlier than an empty bed when your best friend is away.
Beautifully written, it expresses the feeling perfectly.

Awwwww!!! you have such a way with words. I gather that he is not in Iceland that would be 6000 miles away...that would be just too much to take.

tlp: :) It is simply the truth.

Annonymous: Yes - everything helps. Thinking about his deep beary snoring will help me fall asleep.

TC - Pretty wise for a cat. My best friend's absence is like having cookies with no milk, peanut butter without any jam, or a banana without a peel.

Mo'a - LOL. It WOULD be too much to take - not only his heartfelt absence, but the knowledge that he was in The Land would be un Bearable!

Jamie Dawn:
His response was just a peep into how enormous his heart it. I'm a lucky bird in so many ways, but mostly because this Bear loves me. :)

SOe - reminds me of you and your hubby :)

Actonbell - That Bear cuddles like no other.

Jillie - When he travels, I'm only half here. But I know he'll be back.

Hey Keshi - We're never too far apart, even though the distance between us is great. (we share that connection whereever we are...) But, it IS so much better to be in his arms :-D

I want that, too! Almost exactly like you sang it.

I am grinning, too!

tsduff said...

Minka - :)

I know they have ravens in Iceland, but you know, the last polar bear was away back when the ice froze up by Husavik somewhere... a long time ago. Not enough berries up there for a bear.
