I'm in a bit of a slump. My camera is in the shop for 6 to 8 weeks (that means no nice pictures of Chicago in March :(

My home computer is still busted - well, I should clarify that by saying my monitor is still just plain broke so I have to rely upon begging the Bear for use of his laptop or hunch sideways over the old SyncMaster tv-sized monitor I borrowed from a friend which is too big to fit on the table so it is placed strategically on a little table between the real TV and the old computer desk. My neck hurts just thinking about it.

Anyway, I saw a movie over the weekend, called "The Bucket List". It starred Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholas, and I have to say it is the best movie I've seen in a very long time. I don't do "the movies" often - but we got in on a $6.00/each matinee bargain show. Of course, the two actors are worth seeing no matter what the movie subject, but in this case, the two veteran actors played out a story whose story line touched me deeply. The title of the film refers to a list one would make of "everything you want to do - before you kick the bucket". Anyone who has either been in the hospital themselves, or had a loved one suffer through the process will appreciate much of the poignant sorrow, as well as the cleverly mixed humor thoughout the story. It made my day. All I can say is go see it. I know you will be glad you did.

Sounds like a great movie, sadly I don't think it will make it to either of our two theaters. We can always hope though. I like the picture. Simple but striking.

I can't wiat for it to show up here in Iceland. I saw adverts for it in America and knew I had to see that. Sorry about your camera, but in Chicago there will probably be a few others with cameras and pictured can be shared rather quickly ;)

I've been wanting to see that movie, but hubby says no. He still hasn't forgotten "Space Cowboys".

can hardly wait to see this one, do you have an opinion about relationship?

I sure expected more from Ariel about the Ice Cream. Great job as always. When I was a young cowboy I used to ride often over a ridge with a golden eagle aerie on it's side. Nothing is more awewome than the sound their wings make when they take off from 6 feet away.

JandDSchoch - tell me more about my eyes.... maybe when the movie comes out on tape I'll send you a copy.

Anonymous - Yes, BLAH and BLAH again. It is quite a frustrating thing to be out my camera AND my computer... What is your show about?

Minka - I thought Iceland was the cutting edge of new technology & film - the movie should be there soon I hope. Will you be bringing your camera to Chicago? (Oh bother, I just knew you used up your trips to the US)

Actonbell - so then put on your coat and off you go to the cinema! Really, you have a great time.

Yellowdog Granny - I like your ideas! Especially the "finger"...

Weatherchazer - So, what's the problem? I loved Space Cowboys.

Ariel - it's worse because I broke it myself. What a clutz. boo hoo - it IS hard to wait for its return. I'll enjoy your photos while I wait.

TK Kerouac: Yes, you should go see it - it is great.

Relationships? I do have lots of opinions... and I shall come to your blog and respond. Great post.

Wise Weasel - you should repeat your comment on the post above... I don't believe Ariel has been by yet. Yes, I did put the creamy cow from Budapest up with her in mind :)

Not long ago, we were up at Shaver Lake, and a lone raven went winging by as we sat on a rock. The sound of those feathers against the silence of the still mountain air were divine to hear. You were very lucky to have the aerie so near. I'd give my eyeteeth for such a thing.

The Wise Weasel meant to comment on the post above. Shaking in the saddle all day has its effect, eh? That sound must have been beautiful, though.

I'll put it on my list! Thanks.

The show is about adventures and challenges, things people write in to say what they want to try before dying - then made to do it on television! LOL
