Gone fishin...

Due to a death in the family, we are off to Iceland for the next week.

I am sad about Uncle Johannes, but I'll take Iceland however I can get it.

Yesterday the Doc pronounced me sick with pneumonia, ordered the chest xray, and then loaded me down with an entire pharmacy of drugs to take - (Monica, really, I'm not always like this... ha ha ha.) I was just wondering how to make that funny gurgling sound in my chest go away. How does that saying go... starve a fever, feed a cold... heck, I'm not starving anything. After Iceland (call that pylsur, smoked lamb, creamy cheeses and cakes...) - on to Chicago and Greek feasting!

This picture was taken on the Snaeffellsness Peninsula in summer... I heard Reykjavik is beautiful this time of year, underneath its layer of fresh snow. All of you folks still reading this - why don't you

Name that caption?

See you later...

Sorry about uncle. Good to know what to look for in Chicago, though. Say hi to the penguin for me and feel better.

Granny: Oh yeah, better believe it... uh, oh yes, hand in pocket. Tomorrow, I open the cough syrup!

Doug - I posted this picture with you in mind - didn't want you to call the Chicago police when a couple of hippies began to give chase... Will pass on those warm face lick kisses to the penguin uh - verbally of course.

Red Mojo - well done! You'd love standing on that virgin beach... it was the most fabulous place on earth that day. Pneumonia? Hey, after I've done blowing out all these ...kleenex I'll be fine.

Lime - It's all handled - drugs drugs drugs :) You would love Iceland, although very different from Trinidad the people are beautiful, friendly and warm hearted.

Anonymous - how's the summer going? Spring has popped out everywhere here - hay fever sufferers suffering from the pollen.

Anonymous - Another grand adventure with you my Love. Cheers Honey :)

Terry, I've been approached by scarier characters. Hopefully you guys aren't frightened by thugs in Chicago or at least you're selective. Besides, I won't be carrying enough cash to call CPD.

I am sorry to hear that you have pneumonia...I had it after my trip to Italy in October...took a long time to get back to normal.
I admire your tenacity...Iceland or burst. Sorry to hear about your Uncle Johannes.

That sounds like a unique way of healing pneumonia, I hope you are getting stronger with every mile closer to Iceland! I am very embarrassed, I am sorry for your uncle and wishing you good time at Iceland... oh my, how silly does it sound? Please be good!

I´m sorry about the uncle. However, ENJOY Iceland! The fresh air will help your health. But it´s really a bad timing because I´m in Germany for 3 weeks now. Greetings to Iceland!

OK....would you just take the damn picture already! We're freezing over here!

So sorry about your uncle. Glad that you're getting over there but only wish it were on different circumstances.

Pneumonia??? Girl...you take care of yourself while you're over there and in Chicago. That cold air is not good.

Safe journey to both of you...
xo

If by scarier, Doug means Tali and I, well then yes he has :)

Sorry about Uncle. Have safe travels and somehow rest in the midst of it all. Seeing your smiling faces, I'm sorry that I won't make Chicago this year.

Hugs to our dear Penguin from the entire Scissors/Lampshade family.

This photo would have been a great help today, but you recognized me first:)
Thank you for a wonderful day!

G, you and Tali are exactly who I had in mind. The patchouli was overpowering.

The Penguin met the crow! Now that's one exotic hen party.

Doug: Thugs never bother us because we look homeless. Got Plastic?

Thanks Mo'a - The doc gave me some magic pills, an inhaler, and some cool cough syrup so I'm all fixed up. Actually it is rather awful feeling like Typhoid Mary, but I am getting much better with each passing day. I just can't run the marathon yet :)

Ariel, thank you for your kind thoughts. Iceland heals all for me... I feel fabulous as I look out the window across the harbor at Esja, covered with snow.

SOe - So sorry to have missed you! Yes, I can't help but be thrilled being here in Iceland - it is the most beautiful place on the earth. Have fun in Germany.

Searabbit - Welcome, and thanks for stopping by - you have a nice place well.

Jillie - ha ha ha - well done caption :) And yes, sad about the occasion, but spilling all over with joy at being in this beloved country once again. Feeling better every day! xo

G - Hugs passed on :) You and Tali scary? HA! Not even. Yes, you will be missed in Chicago, but there's always next time, which we will look forward to very much.

Keshi - Thank you dear! It is impossible to take a bad picture in Iceland, because everything you look at is so stunningly beautiful!
Say, do you celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Australia??

Lone Grey Squirrel - Hmmm, beached mammals... yes, that is exactly what we were ;) I immediately thought of beached whales - but then re-thought it, and it fit :) (You would never call me a whale now, would you?)

SOCAL SAL - so great to see you! And yes, most definitely REWARDS :) The excellent weather of the past few days here brought out all the bikers... they gather at the end of the main shopping street in the evenings, and it is quite funny to see them all clumped together in their leather jackets, all types of bikes and people looking so tough.

Photowannabe - Thanks! Just one look at the incredible lava reaching out at the shore was enough to make me feel better, as I landed on the beautiful country in the middle of the Atlantic. I'm feeling fine :)

Diesel - You are very kind. One deep breath of the pure Icelandic air and I'm good as new! Nothing that it won't cure I think.

Lindsey - I know you understand :) Iceland is better than any place - better than Ye Olde Jolly England, better than Malibu Canyon, better than well, just about any place you can name. I stand firm on this opinion, and am completely stoked to be here!

You're fine - internet gets fussy sometimes :)

Minka - You lived up to every expectation and then some ;) We had fun, didn't we? Oh, and thanks for the cheap pizza dinner :D Your eye candy pizza place has gone down in our book of fame as the best meal in Iceland. Lovely lovely day. Oh, and tomorrow, THE PEARL? I'll call you. We didn't get our internet connection corrected until late this evening.

DOUG: WHO ARE YOU CALLING A HEN? An alpha crow, and a penguinette are not rightly called "hen". I'm just sayin...

Jillie - I'm wearing my orange - are you? I forget when you do Cabo - dang. Are you there yet? Thinking of you and Cay - hope all is okay. xo

Hey Catnapping - thanks hon. Yes, I AM feeling so very much better!!! You would love it here - the birds are rather few, but such quality! Snipes, swans, RAVENS - I'm in heaven. Would love to see your art from here!

jillie said...

Terry...you are a hoot! I leave for Cabo on Wed a.m. I can hardly wait! Sounds like you're having fun despite the reason you are there. What good is life if you CAN'T celebrate it right???

Save travels to you both. I will look for pictures when I return ;o)

Warm hug and healthy wishes...

tsduff said...

Jillie - well, you're off to sunny climes... it is rainy, very wet and windy here in Iceland but I have no complaints :D Have a Corona for me and don't forget the lime. Safe travels to you as well - adios muchacha. xo

McRaven - you would be so happy to see all the ravens here. Yesterday we saw 6 of them - flying, courting - with one flying upside down whilst the other one joined from above... they dove and climbed and we watched them for a long time as they played over the lava beds. Ravens are incredible.

Wishing you strength and healing to your wounded body - I hope you are feeling better xo

SoCal Sal said...

Hey sweetie. Hope you are well.

Varroooooommmm … XO

Have a great weekend. I’m taking a 4 dayer. Woo Hoo

Don't blow away in the wintery snow up there in Chicago.....assuming you make it through the Minnesota airport first....Don't let the cold bring back your nasty bug!!!!
Happy Easter!!!

Doug The Una said...

Well, alpha crow suits you better, I now know. You and the bear are big fun. See you when you roll off the silk.

I'm not very good with captions, and apparently neither is my co-author the Swedish poltergeist. We both draw a blank. I'm also sorry about your uncle. I would probably push an enemy into a volcano to earn a trip to Iceland. Outside of the United States, I have only been to border towns in Canada and Mexico. Not much of a world traveler, me.

I got pneumonia in August of 2002 but had residual effects from the damn inhaled steroid the doctor put me on until about April of 2003! After I was over everything, the doctor gave me a pneumonia shot. Apparently they're good for five years, so unless your doctor has already suggested, you might want to ask him/her about one.
