Here, is the perfect meal in Venice.

Gorganzola cheese, fresh Italian bread, sparkling water, red wine...

Simple and delicious.

Could it be that the ambience of the glorious surroundings of Venice made it magical?

Actually, I'm sure there was dead cow on the menu... this was just my pristine and simple solution to crowd/heat/ouchy feet/hunger/thirst syndrome :-D

thanks for the addy.

That looks delicious. It's a shame I can't drink red wine. Do you suppose I'd get really dirty looks if I were to order white?

I'll drink the wine and eat the bread and watch you eat the cheese :-)

{{{{Terry}}}} Hi sweetie. Thanks for checking in on me. I've got so much catching up to do.
As for the Venice meal...well, it looks like a Venice appetizer. Maybe double the wine and tripple the cheesy bread. Ahhh to dream. :D

Love to you.

Jeanne - noboby there gives a hot damn what anyone else is having... there is something for everyone there!

Evalinn - let me tell you... I think it was the greatest one I had in Italy! Welcome by the way - nice to have you drop by. I've not been to Sweden, but it is on my list of favorite places!

Kyahgirl - I will not only eat the cheese, but I will order a complete second round of wine AND CHEESE yum yum... you don't know what you are missing!

Crazy Me - Honey, Pizza Hut can't EVEN come close... better save your pennys after Jamaica and come to Venezia :-D

Actonbell - Pull up a chair - this waiter is so cool I know he'd be a champ about it. Nothing like the simple pleasures in life...

Keshi - trust me Kesh - it was ALL good! And that cheese was every single bit as creamy and delicious as it looks...

TC - Just looking at that picture transports me on my pillsbury magic carpet (Like Lisey in Stephen King's novel) in a magical way... all is beautiful... augghhhhhhh.

Jodes, you need to pull up a chair with the rest of us... dig in girl! You are always so busy you need to sit down, smell the cheese, have a thirst quenching sip of your pleasure, and chill!

Ah Agnes... so nice so see you. Missed you big time :-D I think you got the right idea... triple it all... in fact all of it was so fabulous you hardly needed to triple anything. You dream - but I truly hope, as I do with several folks I know, that you will also realize your dreams and travel to amazing places in the near future.

Oh, and hugs about your Satan... I think him and Big Kitty are buddies by now.

hey baby...
whassup?
i love bread.
i had brie and crackers
for dinner last night...
it served its purpose....
ya, i'm not sure i could stomach
gorgonzola, as hip as it is...
not much of a sparkling water/wine person either.
maybe thats why i dont have many friends...
and Dog wants to know
where's the beef....

ha! just saw that the water was called
frizzante.
named after my hair, of course...

bri's headed your way on friday....boo hoo!
its all different this year tho,
and hes kind of getting a quick dose
of adulthood maybe a bit too fast
said the protective jewish mamabear...
he has to find and furnish an apartment
in a very short time
and the apartment people are a bit nervous
of this foreigner
who has no pay stubs to show yet...
welcome to the small minded world Bri...
why cant his first apartment be in toronto?

Yummy! That's right up my alley!

Jillie - oh well, strong cheese just isn't for everyone, LOL! Here is some 4 day-old bread for you to gnaw on - oh, and of course some lovely Italian red wine to wash it down with. Pass that cheese over here... it gets better with age.

JJ - yes, the water was fizzy - and I loved the name Frizzante... LOL at the hair comment!

Awe - first apartments are fun... but rest assured MamaBear... he will be just wonderfully fine. Prospective landlords love musicians - especially talented and dedicated ones like Brian! He'll be everybodys darling you watch! You can ship him tupperware from Toronto - its lightweight.

Top Cat - you noticed? Hmmm... I supposed I should come to grips with the reality that I'm not in Venice anymore :-D

Mo'a - spoken like a true connoisseur :-)

Weatherchazer - come on over - I think there are a few crumbs left :-D

make that grape juice, instead of wine, and toss in a couple of sliced tomatoes, and i'll gladly join you! mmmm. ; ) xox

The surroundings certainly couldn't hurt but it looks delish just the same.

tsduff said...

Neva - I can do that. One unfermented grape juice, coming up! Whoops...those tomatoes are a bit harder to conjure up...

G - Definitely the surroundings. I could put together the same ingredients, and I KNOW it wouldn't have tasted anywhere near so divine.
