I'd really love to check out for a while, as in JUST DROP OUT...although I've already been away from work since last Tuesday.
With the Christmas rush in full horrifying swing, I want to run and hide. Shopping, cooking, wrapping,... these activities require the use of both hands. I haven't even gotten a tree yet (moans... "Do I have to?")
I was complaining (in my head) as I drove in to work this morning with my left "club-hand" resting on the steering wheel, and as I waited for a traffic light, I noticed a man walking along the sidewalk. He had no left arm, and his sleeve was pinned up. Thereby, my lesson for the day was delivered with a resounding wallop. Cheer up Charlie, it just ain't that bad.

It is amazing how that type of thing happens. Well wishes and cheek kisses. Muawh!
You can come and hide under my bed. We'll eat pizza, and put dust kittens in the empty boxes, and give each other as gifts. :-) Oh, and I'm gonna set up the tallest Christmas tree for you!
Yeh, it always helps to think of those worse off than yourself. I'll be thinking of you! Heehee :)
Anon is cracking me up right now. oh dear...That's good stuff. I'm sorry you are not feeling up to snuff, but get that friggin tree up! You'll feel better, I'm sure you can get some help :)
funny how life has a way of giving us those subtle reminders to be thankful. hoping your hand is healing up well.
Anonymous, that's funny.
Ariel's right, every burden belongs to its bearer. Hide and eat pizza! Giving dust kittens as gifts is inspired.
I know how hard it is being one handed. Especially when you are the independant type. How horrible it is to have to ask for help opening the pickle jar, chopping the dinner, doing the dishes, etc etc. I hated it. Even worse I hated watching things pile up cause no one else would do it without me asking. You know the whole martyr thing....woes me no one cares enough to help without me asking. So then I would try to do it one handed and it would take me forever.
Between you and me...what a pair we make for the holidays! I know, you bring your presents down to me and I'll wrap them up for you ;o)
If you want to see my cast...check out the jackass blog (link is in right side of blog) HAHAHAHA
I was complaining about my feet being cold when I saw a dog with no legs and its master was taking it for a drag.
There is wordplay in the German language: "Lieber arm dran als Arm ab!"
arm (german) = poor (english),
Arm (german) = arm (english)
That means: "Better poor than without an arm!"
And you have to get an Christmas tree!!! Christmas without tree is the end of the world!
Don't you just hate it when that happens. You can't even have a good wallow. ; D
SoCal Sal - Yes - and I need reminding oh so often! Thanks dear :)
Ariel - SMILES - I feel so much better already. I'm glad your bed is so big - I need a lot of room to scarf down pizza. Do dust kittens and dust bunnies get along? xo
Anonymous - I needed a lesson in "humble"... capital letters as I was really getting grumpy and full of myself. Yes, you can think of me... HA HA1
Red Mojo - Thanks for the great advice. We went out for a tree last night! My house smells like a forest, and tonight I'll become the great one-handed ball hanger...hmmm, that doesn't sound right...
Thanks Lime. I've got so much to be truly thankful for - time to get out of my own pity pot and quit wallowing.
Doug: Ariel has a gift doesn't she? Her medicine worked where no other did. Come and hide here with us, join us under the bed - pizza and dust kittens for everyone.
Sal - I'm one big fat martyr. ha ha. Yes, I'll do it myself, even if it takes all night and hurts my hand in the process. What on earth is the matter with me? How is your hand doing all this time later? all healed?
Jillie - LOL your Santa toe is great! Ho Ho Ho, nice festive red cast :) Yes, I'll bring everything for you to wrap, and then run them all to put under your tree :)
ICY - GUFFAW ha ha ha ha - you just completely cracked me up!!! Oh my, wiping tears away.. I needed that.
SOe - never heard that one before, but it makes perfect sense to me :) From one who knows her trees - I take your great advice. My house feels so much better to have a fragrant Christmas tree within :)
Nessa - You pegged it right on! Good wallows are hard to come by, and I was about to launch a real doozie. ~sigh~
I would dump that lazy no good boyfriend of yours ! I am available .
Terry, they get along just fine. Great company. :-)
Icy - was the dog's name Cigarette?
Could I help that? No, it was a big setup.
Yes life is funny that way. But your pain is indeed your pain. Take care of that hand and what are you waiting for sis? Get yourself a tree!
