Odd Animal Couple

I always love these kind of stories. As a child, I fantasized about having my very own baby elephant... what a perfect pet/friend to have. But of course I was a child and knew nothing of the ways of elephants or their food intake etc... I should have just grown up on some kind of wild animal compound. Anyway, here is another neat story of how love transcends species, culture, practicality and just about everything else we put in our logical thinking caps. What a neat story.

That's a wonderful friendship. And we think we are so smart. :)

Baby elephants rock!

Ariel the Thief (ps I forgot why you are a thief): yes, it is a cool friendship. I think they are more meaningful than many of the shallow "friendships" or acquaintances we humans occupy ourselves with sometimes. We have a lot to learn from other creatures, if only we would listen and observe.

Ariel - Baby elephants are some of the cutest babies in the world ;)

unconditional love. imagine how much happier we humans would be if we didn't set so many conditions.

i favorited that youtube. it made me cry. thank you.

Now I want an elephant for Willie and Walela.

"Pack their derms" is a lame pun, though.

I posted my comment before Bela let Tara rub her chest. That is an amazing trust.

Cat - It made me cry too. I understand that we humans all make conditions before we love others... it happens whether we are aware of it or not. I love animal love.

Doug - I had to watch it again to even catch that pun in the beginning because I was too busy looking at the pictures. Agreed - it was lame.

- It was indeed trust - I'd say I would be most reluctant to allow such a big foot to be placed on my chest.

Sister Celtic - No, have not seen nor heard of them. What are they? BTW, I'm in shock and awe over your upcoming apt. with Mr. Adams. WOW.

Tom & Icy - Now there's a practical question. Made me laugh though.

Yellowdog Granny - Great minds think alike... only I wasn't going to mention that but the thought did cross my mind. No, I'm not going there.

SOe - It is probably as big as the one on my own :)

JJ - We ARE nature - only we forget. We have a lot to re-learn from our natural counterparts. Send it to your non-animal loving friends too. xo :)

Terry, I am a thief because I steal pictures. :)

Dr. John - you always see things my way.

Ariel (I-REFUSE-TO-CALL-YOU_THIEF any more...) You never steal pictures. I don't buy that.

Wonderful story of love and trust.
I agree with you and Doug lame pun...they could have used another just as lame a pun about trunks.
When my Son was three years old he was kissed by a baby elephant...we have always told him that it is good luck to be kissed by an elephant.
Now I think the baby elephant wanted a friend.

Awwww, Bella and Tara... what an unlikely pair.
How neat that she stood vigil while the doggie healed.
I love that!

bummer, can't see the picture/file/or link above :(

tsduff said...

Mo'a - Did the baby elephant kiss him with his trunk? tee hee - an Eskimo (nose rubbing) kiss - how cute.

Jamie Dawn - Yes, the bond between the pair was really touching to witness. Made me tear up a little.

Minka - Google YouTube Odd Animal Couple, and maybe you can find a link that works for you. It is so cool.
