Beautiful tree stump. Can't wait for campfires.

Our cat sleeps on the back porch all night, and makes me feel like going out with him.

For me there is nothing better than sitting around the campfire...watching the flames dancing through the air and hearing the sounds of mother nature caressing my mind.

Hope you have a wonderful wknd Terry and thanks for the visual!

Nessa - The newness and amazement of each new campfire is wondrous.

Tom & Icy- That is how it all started for us. Now we sleep in the back yard all the time, with the cat (The Terrorist) attempting to gain access to our sleepingbags all night. You should try it one hot summer night.

Jillie - we have plenty of merlot to share by the fire :)

Ariel - Do you ever camp?

What a beautiful photograph. I love your quote by Mark Twain, too. In fact, your whole blog looks like a labor of love. I hope to be back.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on my blog post on sloth. I can identify.

Lime - Yes, s'mores, bacon sizzling in the morning, hot coffee around the cook fire - steaks or a nice trout in the pan, hiking to the lake... so many things come to mind :)

Lone Grey Squirrel - Snapped that picture in Muir Woods - a breathtaking forest of redwoods and oaks, mossy rocks and thick duff forest floor...it is a place where your soul can breathe.

Yellowdog - That teacher ought to have his/her head examined. Sounds like you carried out the assignment perfectly - even with a creative twist.

Laughing Wolf - Yes, right outside of San Francisco in Muir Woods. A virtual paradise.

Mark - Here, it is time. Stunningly.

Actonbell - Of camping? Or a walk in the beautiful woods? Either one is a good memory.

Doug - You are such the accomplished poet. Smoke from the fire and bear - true in so many ways ha ha.

Pagan Sphinx - Welcome here and thank you for your comment. I thoroughly enjoyed my browse at your place, especially your taste in art.

There really is nothing like the smell of a campfire and the woodsy atmosphere. Love it.

Oh how I miss camping... Sitting around the campfire, cold adult beverage in hand and swapping funny stories until the wee hours.

Life is good!

Photowannabe - You speak like one who knows...

Ranger Tom - That is exactly it in a nutshell. So when are you leaving?

Anonymous - I hope you had fun at Ace. xo

Fred - Oh My Goodness! I can't hardly believe it. I suggest you try practicing immediately in your back yard (not in the pool - uh, maybe in the sideyard) just roll out your tarp, put up a tent, and get the fire pit going. Put some wienies on a stick, brush up on your old folk songs (Michael Row Your Boat Ashore, On top of Spaghetti etc.) and you'll be ready! It is NEVER too late :)

JJ - * My eyes are twinkling *
Some matches were meant to be. xo
